I peeked outside my window
When I heard a robin sing..
His chirp was sure a sign
Of the coming of the spring...
The color of the goldfinch
Was as yellow as could be..
When I stepped outside my house
He sang a song to me..
The redpoles were a peeping
As if to say, "It's here!"
Let's put away our shovels
'Cause spring is finally near..
I looked up in the blue sky
To thanks The Lord above..
Then below I heard the cooing
Of the gorgeous mourning dove..
